Francisco Pizarro had a large impact on the Incans he came in contact with. Their population decreased immensely. Francisco ordered the King of the Incans, Atahualpa, to stay with him. While at their "meeting", Francisco saved the king and let his men kill all the other Incans. He believed it would be better to rule the area with Atahualpa because of the information he had. Once Pizarro got what he wanted from Atahualpa, there would be no more use of him. "Incan emperor Atahualpa is taken prisoner by spanish soldiers under Francisco Pizarro, and sentenced to death" ("Seizure of Atahualpa." Image. Library of Congress. World History: The Modern Era. ABC-CLIO, 2011. Web. 12 Feb.2011) Pizarro used a good but cruel strategy to obtain the Incan Empire. Pizarro also did not treat the king fairly because he offered him gold and various riches for his release but Pizarro just took the riches without sparing his life. Pizarro killed Atahualpa regardless of the gold. "Atahualpa feared that the Spaniards would kill him, so he told Pizarro he would give his captors a great quantity of gold and silver. The governor asked him: "How much can you give, and in what time?", Atahualpa said: "I will give gold enough to fill a room twenty-two feet long and seventeen wide, up to a white line which is halfway up to the wall" ("Capture of an Inca King: Francisco Pizarro", 2000, www.historycentral.com/documents/pizarro).

Pizarro also impacted the Inca environment by the use of their mines. When he was told there were various mines where they got their riches, he automatically sent the Natives to get these riches for him. These jewels were precious and the constant disturbance of the mines led to them being scarce. Now, there are probably still jewels in the Peru area, but the might be very expensive. If he had not took so many jewels, prices of the riches in Peru today might be less expensive. The environment might not be as healthy for crops either because of the advanced ammunition they used to conquer the Incans. The Incans only had bow and arrows, more basic weapons. But the Spaniards were more advanced and had cannons, bombs, guns, etc. This can disturb the soil and how fast crops, plants, etc will grow in Peru.

His colony reflected European culture because they both use natives as slaves, and focus on getting riches. How strong your colony was depended mercantilism, the power of a colony depends on how much wealth they have and self sufficiency. Pizarro wanted wealth so he could show his power, just as the Europeans. These similarities show the direction the world was going in when it came to greed, inhumanity, etc.
